Antithrombotic and Antioxidant Activities of Binahong [Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis] Leaf Ethanol Extract and Its Nanoemulsion Preparation in Swiss Webster Mice

Platelet aggregation has the potential to form thrombi and result in cardiovascular system diseases such as myocardial infarction ischemic stroke - one of leading causes death globally. Traditionally, people use binahong leaves blood thinners. Therefore, this study aims obtain scientific data on efficacy leaf antithrombotic. The test was carried out male Swiss-Webster mice. results showed that ethanol extract at doses 50 (BLEE50) 100 mg/kg bw (BLEE100) could increase bleeding time H7 (7.61±1.79% 3.72±1.76% vs 1.08±0.90%) H14 (13.81±4.42% 5.06±2.30% 1.66±1.09%) coagulation (5.01±1.36% 4.18±1.67% 1.38±1.08%) (7.92±1.97% 7.19±1.96% 1.70±1.10%) significantly (p<0.05). two BLEE were formulated nanoemulsions with Self Nano Emulsifying Drug Delivery System (NBLEE50 NBLEE100) also able prolong (p<0.01) but only NBLEE50 prolonged (p<0.05) against BLEE50. In anti-platelet effect ADP an inducer, both nanoemulsion preparation (NBLEE) inhibit platelet a percentage inhibition >70% which not different from standard (acetylsalicylic acid). antioxidant using DPPH method, IC50 = 66.08?g/mL is classified strong antioxidant. Both its NBLEE lipid peroxidation plasma liver NO radicals formation. BLEE50 can reduce mean volume (6.05±0.24fL 6.55±0.34fL) distribution width (8.52±0.36% 9.25±0.42%).
